One of my favorite singers at the moment is Jess Glynne. Her voice is currently all over radio with her collaborations with the group Clean Bandit, but this track My Love holds a special place in my heart so I had to put my twist on it. I slowed down the original Route 94 version and gave it that mid-tempo bounce. It has a chill vibe but is a great way to close out your set in that 100 BPM range. When these 2 tracks came out I remember playing them back to back a few times so once I got the Uptown Funk Acapella I had to try it over the Major Lazer/ Ariana Grande All My Love beat. They go together well & bring a different vibe to the Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars track.

I've heard a ton of Remixes to Big Sean's latest jam IDFWU but I didn't like any of them. I decided to mash it with something and I chose Party Favor's Bap U, which is one of my favorite twerk jamz out right now. Where are my booty music fans at? In case you didn't know I grew up loving that Miami Bass sound. In fact, I was picked on about it in New York because most of my friends just didn't get it. And while MIA was the home for it, there was a few guys in Atlanta who made great tracks as well. One of the best was Lil Jon! Before the crunk sound emerged, he was making fun party records over uptempo bass heavy beats. Working on this mashup pack was more fun than any of the others, as it seemed like things were really coming full circle for me. Back in Middle School, Patrice & I used to walk around reciting lines from the movie "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" but never in a million years would I think that one day we would release a track with the same title as one of their classic lines. A friend of mine played this for me awhile back when Katy Perry's latest album first came out & surprisingly I actually liked it. Apparently the rest of the world does too because it is currently the #1 song in the country. Since most producers are probably going to do trap & house remixes to this one I decided to bump up the tempo to 95 BPM & give it that twerk feel. I'm real happy with how this one turned out. I used some elements from the original but tried to take it in a different direction. Check it out & let me know what you think:

This year I'll be bringing in 2014 out in Vegas @ Tryst with my homie Lil Jon & as always he's got something for the DJs around the world. In the past we did edits with one of his countdowns & the hottest tracks of the moments but this year we decided to make playable versions of the song that everyone expects to hear when the ball drops, "Auld Lang Syne". We couldn't decide between Trap or Twerk so we did one for each. These are real short & to the point so that you can turn the party up after everyone gets their New Year's kiss!
