Check out this Mash-Up that I did for International XL & his artist G-Zo. Originally these party vocals were on a track from Congorock but this one is over a dope version of the classic jam "Calabria". Something sexy during your Uptempo or Latin set, check it out:

This Saturday DJ Camille & I return to Eastside Lounge in EAV. The theme for the night is Atlanta artists all night long! That's right all the current favorites: Future, Jeezy, Gucci, etc. as well as old school artists like TLC, Kris Kross, Kilo & everyone in between. In the 8 years that I lived here I've never done a whole night like this so it will definitely be a fun challenge, luckily we have plenty of artists to choose from! The party is on Saturday, July 7th & we start spinning at 10pm. Spread the word & come party with us!
2 new mash-ups from Lil Jon & I: Cashin' Out - Ca$h Out vs. Levels - Avicii and I Got A Feeling - Black Eyed Peas vs. Feel So Close - Calvin Harris! Both tracks are Clean versions so they are radio friendly for all my DJs on the air! DOWNLOAD them ASAP:
On a side note, minutes after posting the Black Eyed Peas Mash a fellow DJ informed us that J-Espinosa had done this same idea awhile back. I always search Google & Crooklyn Clan before I finish a track to make sure that no one has released something similar but his version didn't come up anywhere in the first few pages when I checked. I added a few effects in there so I know ours is a little bit different, but what can I say great minds think alike :)
DJ Camille spit a sick verse in the "Cashin' Out" Freestyle contest, check out her entry here:
Since there wasn't a version of "Call Me Maybe" that we enjoyed playing, Lil Jon & I decided to make one. We put Carly Rae's vocals over the Laidback Luke & Steve Angello version of the Robin S classic "Show Me Love". This one is fun for all ages, check it out:

Next up, our mission was to take "We Are Young" and put it with a Hip-Hop beat, and this is the result. We used the Instrumental from Soulja Boy's "Donk" & it gives the Fun. track a whole new twist, peep it:
And for the Video DJs, DVDJ Crush came through with the sick edits:

Lil Jon & I added some vocals to the already sick track 1,2,3,4 by Laidback Luke, Chuckie & Martin Solveig to take it to a new level. This one utilizes one of the most popular phrases of the moment YOLO & will surely be a favorite among the club heads. I posted a Clap Intro version on SoundCloud check it out:

Every morning I wake up & grab my phone to see whats going on in the world. Today, one of the first tweets I read was from Global Grind announcing that Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys was dead at the age of 47.
He was a true legend in Hip-Hop & a huge influence to me. For those who know my history, my old group got its name from a Beastie Boys lyric so you already know the connection that I had with the group.
To be honest though, growing up I was not the biggest fan of their early albums. Once Hello Nasty was released, I began to go back & recognize their genius. Their music broke down color walls & is enjoyed by people of all walks of life, which is the way I think it should be.
RIP MCA
I don't usually post Edits on SoundCloud, but with the unfortunate passing of MCA I wanted to share one I did to give the DJs something to show respect for the man. I made this Edit last month before I opened for Pete Rock. It is probably my favorite Beastie Boys song:
Get It Together (DJ Kontrol Edit) (Dirty) (Beastie Boys f. Q-Tip)

For those of you who liked how I flipped the Gotye vocals over the Lollipop beat, be on the lookout for my new mashup EP Trap Pop. That song, in addition to 5 new ones + Clean Versions, will be available on Tuesday, May 8, 2012! Shout out to my bro Patrice McBride for coming up with the title!
All the songs were originally uptempo pop tracks which I crunked up over some of my favorite Dirty South instrumentals! These Remixes give each song a totally new feel & will allow DJs to work them into their sets in different ways. In case you missed it, here's the 1st single from the EP:

A trip to Philly wouldn't be complete without making the trip up to Trenton, NJ to spin at The Buzz! I'll be spinning a little bit of everything this SATURDAY with a heavy dose of DJ Kontrol Exclusives! This place is intimate so get there early cuz it gets packed quick! New Jersey spread the word its party time on April 21st!!!
Half of the excitement I get as a Remixer comes from having an Acapella that is rare or unreleased. So when Lil Jon sent the Acapella to his track "Drink" featuring LMFAO, I was pretty pumped to do something with it. We actually did these bootlegs back in December, but since the track was getting an official release in February, he wanted to hold off until after the video & Remixes were out there. So after previewing them in my sets for the last few months, they are now available to you!
Lil Jon & I did a crunk Blend for the hip-hop DJs over Soulja Boy's "Crank That" Instrumental and a dance Mash over Bingo Player's monster track "Rattle"! At the time we made the "Rattle" Bootleg, only Miami Ski Team had put anything with that track and now there are way too many to count! Regardless, they both go hard, so download & share them with the World!

Hip-Hop heads who are eagerly awaiting the release of the next album from Nas can be thankful for the latest project from my bro Patrice McBride. Patrice (formerly known as DJ Manik), delivers his dope Remix project iLLmanik. He paired 10 of his original beats with classic Nas Acapellas & the result is magic. Check it out & feel free to share it with your peeps: CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD Patrice McBride – iLLmanik
I will be heading back up North for some shows & studio time with my bro Patrice McBride. My 1st show up there is at Fluid Nightclub opening for the legendary Pete Rock. I grew up on his music so I look forward to crossing "rocking with Pete Rock" off my bucket list! If you are in the area do not miss this one!
I collaborated with fellow ATLien DJ Rapko on this Example "Changed The Way You Kissed Me" Remix. The original version of this track has a ton of views on YouTube and with the recent Remix Contest (this was our entry), you can expect to hear DJs spinning this song. When we first started working on this Remix I couldn't stand the original but I think our version gives it a little extra something. You be the judge, if you are feeling it leave a comment on SoundCloud. As always feel free to share it!

On my way up North I'll be stopping in Greensboro, NC for a show next Saturday night! The party is at Syn & Sky Nightclub w/ my boy DJ P-Dub. For more info check out: Syn & Sky on Facebook
The original version of this Gotye song is amazing & while it is big, I feel it is only going to blow up more. There is already hundreds of Dance Remixes to this one (most of which are not that good), so I decided to put my own twist on it & make it crunk for the club. I chopped up Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" Instrumental & sequenced the Gotye & Kimbra Acapella over it. Enjoy & as always feel free to share it!
